Bug#805302: qtcreator: hangs when parsing code using c++11 STL vector
Package: qtcreator Version: 3.5.1+dfsg-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, The issue can be reporduced using the attached CMakeLists.txt and qt_creator_hang.cpp files. The code itself is non-sensical, but seems to be synctatically valid and gets compiled cleanly. It has been extracted from a much longer sorce file. Once the project is opened with QtCrator and qt_creator_hang.cpp is opened in editor, htop shows 100% cpu usage on one core. When user tries to edit the qt_creator_hang.cpp file additional threads are spawned and all available cpu cores are getting full load. Though QtCreator seems to continue to work correctly, it connot be cleanly closed once the issue appears. The issue is not observed, when the following line is skipped in CMakeLists.txt. set( CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS ${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} "-std=c++11" ) With the above line skipped QtCreator also get 100% usage after opening the qt_creator_hang.cpp, but the load drops in a few seconds. Also, when editing the file additional threads are being spawned and additional cores are being employed, but the load drops back to low after a few seconds without input. Several people of the list recommends in this case to make at first one: apt-get upgrade -V and to see the result and if everything seems correct to try an : apt-get dist- upgrade -V hoping that it will help you. Re: Re: KDE Plasma 5 transition from testing
Thank you very much for the answer. I did the apt-get upgrade -V and well, it seems that "all is correct" from my inexperienced point of view. But the reason why I do not performed yet the apt-get dist-upgrade is that "kinfocenter" and "plasma-desktop" packages still kept back even with the apt-get dist-upgrade. And as far as I understand "plasma-desktop" is imperative for KDE runs properly. So if I perform the apt-get dist-upgrade I think that after the reboot, KDE will break again.
KDE Plasma 5 transition from testing
Hello, First of all sorry because probably my question was repeated too much times but I cannot find a successfull answer. I get on testing two weeks ago and performed the corresponding update and upgrade commands. Apt upgraded the available packages but now I have 420 packages kept back. If I perform an apt-get dist-upgrade, apt tries to delete several packages such as kde-plasma-desktop kde-standard kde-workspace and so on (at the bottom I put the full output of apt-get dist-upgrade). The first time I accepted the operation and then after the reboot KDE was broken and I had to reinstall. I read that the reason of this situation is the transition from KDE 4 to 5 and gcc-5 library. But I also see people that is currently working with KDE 5 and Plasma 5, so I dont know if I am doing something wrong or I have missed some steps. Thanks for your help. Bug#805320: Destroys hotkey configuration
Package: kded5 Version: 5.15.0-1 Severity: grave File: /usr/bin/kded5 I upgraded to the most recent KDE fairly recently—a week or two ago. My machine crashed, and upon rebooting and logging back in all my custom hotkeys had vanished. First, I attempted to restore a backup of ~/.config/khotkeysrc but found it to *also* bee missing all the hot keys, despite being a backup from after configuring it and before the machine crashed. So I went ahead and opened up system settings and started trying to enter them in again. I noticed when I created a new group, khotkeysrc got bigger as expected... but then a short while later was reset! No further edits seemed to make the file change, except mtime. Note that the Custom Shortcuts settings show that the keybinds are there, and they work just fine—until you log out, of course. Checking with fatrace, "apply" in Custom Shortcuts does this: root@Zia:/home/anthony/.config# fatrace | grep khotkeys systemsettings5(7751): RO /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc systemsettings5(7751): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc systemsettings5(7751): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock systemsettings5(7751): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock systemsettings5(7751): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock systemsettings5(7751): RO /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc systemsettings5(7751): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc systemsettings5(7751): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.sj7751 systemsettings5(7751): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.sj7751 systemsettings5(7751): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.sj7751 systemsettings5(7751): CW /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc systemsettings5(7751): CW /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock (deleted) kded5(4983): RO /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): R /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock kded5(4983): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): R /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.aq4983 kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.aq4983 kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.aq4983 kded5(4983): CW /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.aq4983 kded5(4983): CW /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock (deleted) kded5(4983): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): R /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): WO /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock kded5(4983): RO /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): C /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc kded5(4983): O /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.cS4983 kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.cS4983 kded5(4983): W /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.cS4983 kded5(4983): CW /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.cS4983 kded5(4983): CW /home/anthony/.config/khotkeysrc.lock (deleted) ... and confirming it's kded5, doing `kill -STOP 4983` left the file with my settings in it (though systemsettings hung at that point). Killing kded5 made a mess of KDE and crashed system settings, but I re-launched custom shortcuts without kded5 running, and now the file changes as expected. Tried with several "apply"s, all of them save as expected. Further testing, I restarted kded5 (just from an xterm) and then after the next "apply" in Custom Shortcuts, khotkeysrc again was reset to defaults. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (200, 'unstable'), (150, 'stable'), (100, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.3.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages kded5 depends on: ii libc6 2.19-22 ii libkf5configcore5 5.15.0-1 ii libkf5coreaddons5 5.15.0-1 ii libkf5crash5 5.15.0-1 ii libkf5dbusaddons5 5.15.0-1 ii libkf5service-bin 5.15.0+-1 ii libkf5service5 5.15.0+-1 ii libqt5core5a 5.5.1+dfsg-6 ii libqt5dbus55.5.1+dfsg-6 ii libqt5gui5 5.5.1+dfsg-6 ii libqt5widgets5 5.5.1+dfsg-6 ii libstdc++6 5.2.1-23 kded5 recommends no packages. kded5 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

Bug#805341: qtbase-opensource-src: causes iceweasel to lock up on start-up
Package: qtbase-opensource-src Version: 5.5.1+dfsg-7 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? upgrading packages based on qtbase-opensource-src 5.5.1+dfsg-6 -> 5.5.1+dfsg-7 iceweasel would lock up itself and the KDE session part way through start-up (see bug 804060) * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? downgrading to -6 version packages, logging in and out of KDE before attempting to restart iceweasel worked. * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.3.0+ (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init)

Bug#804694: libqt5xcbqpa5 SIGSEGV crashes sporadically at QXcbWindow::handleClientMessageEvent
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Thanks for your efforts. It seems like the bug vanished kind of. Quassel sometimes still goes away, but without a SIGSEGV, this is another problem. I updated gnome and mutter due to other problems to the unstable versions (3.18.2-1) last week. Since then it seems to be okay. So maybe the QT crash was caused by an error with the window manager. And yes, I have a multi-monitor setup. With a notebook I'm moving to multiple workplaces.
