I've been thinking in upgrading my laptop and i've been looking to ECS
i-Buddie 530, it's not a regular laptop, it's what they call a desknote.
It's a laptop without a battery assembled with regular pc components. To
me it's what i need because, i only use my laptop where i can plug it

Can someone tell me her/his impressions? I'd like to install a Debian 3.1 on
a HP Omnibook and I wish using journaled fs principally to avoid fschk's...

I installed Debian 2.4.18-bf2.4 on my compaq presario 1255 laptop, using the
net install. For the modules I just load the modules from the floppies, but i
knew my network card module was not listed there. Si I when to the shell. From
the shell I went to /target/etc/init.d/pcmcia,

There was a thread earlier on this list named No fsck in battery mode.
There's explained why you shouldn't stop regular fs-checks even if you
use a journaling-FS.
