SHMConfig not working in Lenny

2009-03-27 Thread Richard Werst
Hi to all; I wanted to get the Syndaemon to work in Lenny, so that my touchpad is disabled while typing, and for some reason I can't get the SHMConfig to be acknowledged properly. It is set to true in my xorg.conf file, and it worked in Etch, but now I get a: Can't access shared memory area.

Lenny with Atheros AR522/AR5213 Chipset

2009-03-08 Thread Richard Werst
Greetings to all; I replaced Etch with a fresh install of Lenny and the only major problem is with the ATH5K driver -- which is enabled by default. It will not maintain a connection to my home network (no security). The behavior is rather strange, as it will connect (with a reading of 100%

Toshiba Satellite A35 reported battery power remaining

2008-09-03 Thread Richard Werst
Sometimes gnome-power-manager sends a zero power warning when the battery is fully charged, and at other times - with the same battery, it will allow three hours or more of work time. If it is plugged in when it reports a low battery, it sometimes says that there is seven hours (or more)

Re: Toshiba A205-S5809 - Realtek wifi?

2008-02-20 Thread Richard Werst
I have an older Toshiba, and I had to use the Madwifi driver to make it work. In addition I had to install the kernel source and kernel headers for the right kernel in order to compile the driver. It also seems that whenever the kernel is upgraded -- as it was with the recent upgrade with Etch,
