since this is your first release cycle in debian, you didn't know,

the nature of how debian decided to freeze for the release

I just built and ran sid-based GNOME3 desktop live iso.
In that live system, the gnome-terminal cannot be started
due to system locale, which is set to C.
Selecting English as live user's language in Gnome
control center and restarting the session helped.
Can this be handled by live-config?
