 Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 3:2.10.7-1

I've prepared a new version (3:2.10.8-1).

 ...

The package is not lintian clean, it has 3 overrides:
 - gthumb: menu-icon-missing (it is in gthumb-data, no need to duplicate it)

Now this is the only overrode warning (libraries have gone into a
private directory using RPATH: /usr/lib/gthumb/)

 ...

The upload would fix the ITA bug #457591

It would also fix (notice there are a couple more bugs fixed over the last
summary mail I sent):

452929 - gthumb: fit and width zoom options do not work (important)
457350 - gthumb: crash when trying to print (important)

298881 - gthumb: Options on the command line are ineffective (normal)
340820 - gthumb help is broken (normal)
446413 - gthumb: corrupt memory when trying to print (normal)
454298 - crashes when trying to print (normal)
457021 - gthumb: please add alternative dependency on rarian-compat (normal)

310095 - gthumb: no key binding for 'Do Not Save' (minor)
404086 - gthumb: menu shortcut conflict with de locale (minor)

403736 - please improve .desktop (wishlist)
456602 - gthumb: Do not depend upon versioned scrollkeeper (wishlist)
457509 - new version available (2.10.6) (wishlist)

(i.e. 2 important, 5 normal, 2 minor, 3 wishlist)

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gthumb
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gthumb/gthumb_2.10.7-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kindly,
David

Please don't upload it yet. I've just found out a minor issue during build:
after svn-buildpackage the sources are left modified. Looking at it right now.

RFS: libowfat (NMU update)

2008-01-02 Thread Siegfried-Angel
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 0.27-0.1 of package
libowfat. This is an NMU, as a bug requesting a new version (filled
six months ago), neither my (20 days old) question about when this
will get in Debian (as it's required to get it into Ubuntu without having
a different checksum, since upstream releases .tar.bz2 files only)
received any answer.

It builds these binary packages:
libowfat-dev - A reimplementation of libdjb

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 435478, 447312

Bug 435478 is the update request, and 447312 is a file overwrite error,
which would be fixed with this upload by adding a conflict. It also
includes other improvements (like adding a watch file, updating the
standards version and fixing lintian/linda's complains); I'm not sure if all
those are appropriate for a NMU, but I don't see how they could do any
harm (but if they aren't appropriate just tell me and I'll revert them).

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libowfat
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libowfat/libowfat_0.27-0.1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Siegfried-Angel Gevatter Pujals (RainCT)

Ok, how about this:

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package wicrawl.

* Package name: wicrawl
  Version : 0.4a-1
Upstream Author : Midnight Research Labs
* URL : http://midnightresearch.com/projects/wicrawl/
* License : gpl
  Section : net
  Language: English only

It builds these binary packages:
wicrawl- A wireless access point auditor

Wicrawl is a simple wi-fi (802.11x) Access Point auditor with a simple
and flexible plugin architecture. The plugins allow us to find out
useful information about an AP so we don’t have to manually check each
access point. Plugins are implemented for existing common tools, and new
plugins can be written in any language. Wicrawl is able to use multiple
cards, and eventually will be able to use multiple computers.

The package appears to be lintian clean. (it actually fails on
stronger-dependency-implies-weaker, but this is a lintian Bug #456802)

The upload would fix these bugs: 393610

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/w/wicrawl
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/w/wicrawl/wicrawl_0.4a-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards

OK, so what is the advantage over existing methods of doing this, like
wifi-radar and simple iwconfig commands?

Not sure how useful this would be for most users. I don't know how many
sysadmins care about multiple wireless connections to unknown AP's.

Thanks for the long description, it answers a lot of questions. If you
can answer the other questions above, I'd be willing to review it in
more detail (subject to the programming language not being python).

Hehe. The program itself is Perl, but it has plugins written from C,
perl and python.

Language: English only

Perhaps the description needs expanding ... the plugins handle things
like wep cracking, wpa bruteforcing, bypassing of payment-required
access points...
It's not designed to handle connecting to networks, more is a user
friendly way to test their security.

Plugins are implemented for existing common tools, and new
plugins can be written in any language. Wicrawl is able to use multiple

That would be fantastic. Only one portion of it (the apwebcrack
plugin) is written in python, so I don't know if you still feel like it.

Having read through the rest of this doc, I also noticed I missed the
Homepage: field. I changed this, and others things (all documented in
changelog) As per your suggested course of action, I uploading it to
mentors as 0.4a-2.

Cheers,

David
