Hi, I just extended golang-go to ppc64. But golang-any still points to gccgo-go. So people can use golang-go to build things on ppc64 even if the produced binaries violate the Debian baseline. For example I need to use golang-go to bootstrap golang-1.22. Please be noted that gccgo only implements Go1.18 without generics.
In 2018, golang-go dropped ppc64 because upstream's minimum ISA requirement exceeds Debian's[1]. At that time, gccgo was still something that we could use. However the development of gccgo has stalled over the years. gccgo can't even bootstrap Go 1.22 now. [1] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=891746 -- Shengjing Zhu
