The builds of graphicsmagick (#1006110) and qtimageformats-opensource
(#1006009) failed due to tests related to libwebp. Could this be a bug
in libwebp?

Almost all reverse dependencies have successfully been rebuilt against
libwebp7. Packages failing to build are weston (#998603) and openimageio
(#1003470).

The perl 5.34 transition is currently ongoing. As libwebp and perl 5.34
collide, libwebp will need to wait until perl is done.

To make it super clear, here is the updated formal request with updated Ben

Hello Release Team,

We would like to transition libwebp to a new upstream version 1.2.1-6
that is already uploaded and built in experimental. No build problems
are expected in the reverse dependencies either. This was tested by
rebuilding a subset of packages listed on the transition web page:

https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-libwebp.html

Please let us know if we can proceed with the upload to unstable. Also
a binNMU rebuild of reverse dependencies would be required afterwards.

is_affected = .depends ~ "libwebp6" | .depends ~ "libwebp7";
is_good = .depends ~ "libwebp7";
is_bad = .depends ~ "libwebp6";

Hurray! That is great news! Thank you for your great work with libwebp 1.2.1!
I am waiting for the new libwebp 1.2.1 to land in Debian unstable too!

Cheers,
Anthony

$ dpkg -L libwebp8
/.
/usr
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebp.so.7.1.2
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/libwebp8
/usr/share/doc/libwebp8/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/libwebp8/changelog.gz
/usr/share/doc/libwebp8/copyright
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwebp.so.7

That doesn't look correct. Please fix the package name first.

Cheers
