Not sure about the GTK, byt it will certainly be difficult to make gcc-3.3
work properly

Hi debian people,
I have a Sun Enterprise E250 running sarge. E250 has a front panel with
LEDs used as health and fault indicators, which apparently work only
when the system is running Solaris.
Does anyone know of a workaround for them to work under debian?
Thanx in advance.

Yesterday i have upgraded some of these box, they are using sarge.
I've hit the /etc/init.d/cheroot.sh bug, but also xfree have some
problem.
X seems to start, but the monitor display ``sync out of range''
message. I've verified, the new xfree 4.3 packages have not touched the

I have a mostly written driver that support environmental monitoring and
LEDs on the E250. It will handle temperature and fan monitoring, and
can control all the LEDs (currently is only twiddles the activity LED).
The bigger issue that has been keeping this driver off the list to date

A good friend of mine is re-writing portions of the
povray source code to run full 64bit.. he's working out the rest to give full X
display support. Once this is complete we will post a binary for
download.. anyone that's interested please let me know.

Ahh thanks..
Actually, i think i fixed it.. turns out i needed to run 'fc-cache -f' as
root. After that, everything started to work again. I'd even tried that
last night, but i ran it as me, not root. whoops. guess i have some more
to learn when it comes to this whole fontcache thing. thank

(i.e. LINUX_REBOOT_CMD_HALT goes to OBP, LINUX_REBOOT_CMD_POWER_OFF goes to
OBP). I may have missed some subtlety, but it seems better to handle
this outside of machine_power_off, as a driver MIGHT wish to call that
directly under thermal failure scenarios, etc.
I was told by Herbert Xu [EMAIL PROTECTED], the maintainer
of kernel-source-2.4.24, that his package was not the for use with sparcs.
I looked all over and could not find another pkg. Dose any one know how
