hola gente, segui probando, al parecer el problema es con la version del kernel, ya que instale un kernel amd64 para un i5 y hasta ahora no tuve problemas. digo esto porque tambien llegue a pensar que era un problema de entorno grafico, desinstale gnome y deje solamente lxde, colgandose igual.

Yes the above would work in most cases but in the case I am dealing with, the filesystem is not mounted yet. For example, I plug in a USB drive. Before it is mounted, there is a /dev/sd[x] node. I can open this node and write anything I want, thereby corrupting the filesystem on that device.
