X server crashes everything

Hi I have a problem with the X server. When I type 'X', the screen goes black and everything stops. SysRq+b doesn't even work. Is it likely that I am missing the driver? Everything installed is the stable version. It's an HP laptop with a GeForce Go video card. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to
