Bug#496264: [wnpp] Doesn't work on amd64

2009-05-22 Thread Resul Cetin
Package: wnpp

I told you some time ago that it doesn't work on amd64. This doesn't changed
in git and I assume that you uploaded the version in your git repository.
dpkg-shlibdeps prints a lot of following warnings:

dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: couldn't find library libccom.so needed by
debian/cuneiform/usr/lib/cuneiform/librpstr.so (its RPATH is '').

Note: libraries are not searched in other binary packages that do not have any
shlibs or symbols file.

The startup of cuneiform fails with:
$ cuneiform
cuneiform: error while loading shared libraries: libpuma.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

I would say that it is the same on i386

I request an adopter for the nc6 package.

The package description is:
 A simple Unix utility which reads and writes data across network
 connections using TCP or UDP protocol. It is designed to be a reliable
 back-end tool that can be used directly or easily driven by other
 programs and scripts. At the same time it is a feature-rich network
 debugging and exploration tool.
 .
 Netcat6 is a rewrite of the original netcat with support for IPv6 and
 an enhanced support for UDP.

No new upstream version since 2006, but it seems to works fine.

Bug#530007: ITP: r-other-mott-happy -- GNU R package for fine-mapping complex diseases

2009-05-22 Thread Steffen Moeller
Package: wnpp

Owner: Steffen Moeller steffen_moel...@gmx.de

* Package name: r-other-mott-happy
  Version : 2.1
  Upstream Author : Richard Mott richard.m...@well.ox.ac.uk
* URL : http://www.well.ox.ac.uk/happy/happyR.shtml.
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: C,R
  Description : GNU R package for fine-mapping complex diseases

 The idea behind this package is that when multiple strains of
 animals that differ in their susceptibility to multiple diseases
 are bread over multiple generations, then one can analyse the
 contribution that a particular genetic locus has to each of those
 diseases. While in the past this approach has been performed
 for one disease at a time, this tool extends the statistics
 for allowing multiple crosses and thus save animal lifes. A larger
 stock of animals with more generations to keep them will further
 help producing larger numbers of observable cross-over events
 and thus help increasing the resolution of the mapping.
 .
 happy is an R interface into the HAPPY C package for fine-mapping
 Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) in Heterogenous Stocks (HS). An HS is
 an advanced intercross between (usually eight) founder inbred strains
 of mice. HS are suitable for fine-mapping QTL. The happy package is
 an extension of the original C program happy; it uses the C code to
 compute the probability of descent from each of the founders, at each
 locus position, but the happy packager allows a much richer range of
 models to be fit to the data.

  Description : extract or scrub versioning information from PDF files

 PDFResurrect is a tool aimed at analyzing PDF documents. The PDF format
 allows for previous document changes to be retained in a more recent
 version of the document, thereby creating a running history of changes
 for the document. This tool attempts to extract all previous versions while
 also producing a summary of changes between versions. This tool can also
 scrub or write data over the original instances of PDF objects that have
 been modified or deleted, in an effort to disguise information from previous
 versions that might not be intended for anyone else to read.

Bug#519234: back to RFP

2009-05-22 Thread Obey Arthur Liu
retitle RFP: libclipsmm -- C++ interface for CLIPS
noowner

thanks

Packaging this has been really difficult and needs cooperation from the clips
package maintainer (jfs)

Here's a mail I sent him (although I didn't get a reply at the time):

===
Hi,

I'm trying to package[1] clipsmm[2] and the upstream files have just
been a giant of hurt so far between the unbuildable 6.30 version, and
broken X IDE...

I'm having a few issues with compiling clipsmm:
- clips doesn't provide pkg-config .pc files
- some FunctionContext methods are missing

I'm working while looking at the Fedora packages which seem to be
working, clips[3] and clipsmm[4].
They seem to include the .pc files, somehow. They also add a
FunctionContext.zip file with methods used by clipsmm, bumping the
version to a weird 6.25 (see envrnmnt.h in the .zip file for example).

Do you have any specific insight into this ?

Cheers

Arthur

If anyone else is interesting in packaging this, I can give him more
explanation on what's going on with the FunctionContext mess.

Arthur

Bug#519234: back to RFP

2009-05-22 Thread Obey Arthur Liu
retitle RFP: libclipsmm -- C++ interface for CLIPS
noowner

thanks

Packaging this has been really difficult and needs cooperation from the clips
package maintainer (jfs)

Here's a mail I sent him (although I didn't get a reply at the time):

===

Cheers

Arthur

explanation on what's going on with the FunctionContext mess.

 Only read access is available at the moment, but write access is under
 works. Multiple extents are supported.

 The VMFS can be accessed with a command line tool or mounted through a

Hi!

Please see the following reasons for the removal request:

* Package is orphaned.

* Few users - a popcon of 38 users only.

There are no reverse depends.
