thank you for your quick answer. The behaviour I just described comes
from launching TOTEM from grun, a GTK launcher that I pop-up to start
program in my plain-vanilla-compiz environment. In fact, runnig TOTEM
from an xterm works well.
So, the problem is with grun, not a TOTEM
Next time I'll submit gnome buggies over there.

On my Ubuntu 8.04 (with russian locale) after I requested sharing the
folder and accepted samba installation, I still had the error 255 no
permissions for net usershare.
The reason was simple. When editing sambashare usergroup I noticed, that
my account is added to group, BUT UNCHECKED. I needed

After upgrading to intrepid,I am unable to add new commands to my startup via
the sessions dialog. Whenever I try to add a new one or edit an existing one, I
get the dialog:
The startup command cannot be empty
However,I am still able to check/uncheck them to enable/disable

After some usage, nautilus memory use increases to 50-60 MB. If I use it
for right click extracting of archives, It even increases to 150 MB. I
have a machine with 1 GB RAM, but along with firefox, this nautilus
memory usage is crippling my machine in some occasions.

When I try to print a pdf document, the program freezes, and I have to kill it
from the terminal. I would expect that the program print the document, what I
never could since I installed Ubuntu.

Thats not good justification for a freeze exception. From what I can
see, the changes from 0.4.4 to 0.5.0 are quite significant, with lots of
new features. F-spot 0.4.4 works quite well at the moment.

after booting Live CD Intrepid Alpha4 this bug occured, adding, that on the
first boot with the same CD few weeks ago this bug did not occur. However, I
was asked to submit a report to developers and that is what I did now, hope it
was submitted and helps. Not sure, but the difference to

Yes, changing plain-variable to variable in line 177 seem to solve the
problem, but it might have other effects. The best would be to report
this upstream and see what they think.

i strongly support adding poppler-data at least to suggests.
i cannot read http://www.huettenhilfe.de/wp-content/uploads/kochbuch
/Tapas-Kochbuch.pdf, if poppler-data is not installed and i searched
quiet a bit to find, that i have to look for it (say: 10 minutes). and
this is just way too much!
not only rendering, but also displaying is broken w/o poppler-data. say
