2. Go to screen resolution, and change the resolution from 1028 x 728 to
another one. Click on apply, and wait for the changes to be made. Go back to
change the screen resolution back

xorg change did you do? the graphical tools should list the same option
than the xrandr command

I'm also experiencing this problem with Exchange server 2003, Evolution
2.24.3 using the Exchange Plugin.
To make a missing email display, I can go into Outlook Web Access, move
the affected email to another folder, then move it back again.
Clicking Send/Receive in Evolution then displays the
confirmed, it doesn't matter if you uncheck one of the senders it send
the email to the whole list anyways, looks like a dup to me, ill have a
look upstream, thanks for reporting.

If you log out and log back in, it should take effect. It's similar to
the way when you change a localisation/translation, where you have to
logout.
Well, maybe not gnome-session in it's entirety. But given how big a
regression this was for Gnome, I'd hope that the individual changes that
correct this upstream can be pulled into intrepid.

I apply the system wide proxy configuration (setting it to direct connection)

As a little workaround: in terminal you can type -- export
The graphical tools DO list the same options as the xrandr command. That
means that if the autodetection has failed to identify a valid mode by
autodetection, you are screwed unless you like to edit xorg.conf. Then
these options show up in xrandr and in the graphical tool.
