At this moment, the only way to survive at this bug is open an ftp or sftp
connection in local host and copy files with filezilla or similar client

I can confirm that also the crash.pdf file from comment #1 does freeze my
system. I quickly zoomed to maximum and minimum with ctrl and the right part of
the touchpad.
I assume the crash does not depend on the individual file. I regularly get it
with pdfs like the one here:

Apparently evolution-alarm-notifier runs at startup, and holds a mutex.
When Evolution is set to run at startup, it seems to open another
instance of evolution-alarm-notifier, and that instance too attempts to
hold a mutex. I guess there is a race/deadlock scenario happening here.

I can confirm this issue. I'm having exactly the same problem. Files
deleted from network shares mounted as CIFS (with pam_mount) are not
visible in the trash. The only way to get the space back is to display
hidden folders, and manually empty the .trash-uid folder.
It's quite annoying.

My equipment is the same as before. Now, after upgrade from jaunty (9.4)
to karmic (9.10 on ext3) brasero multisession works fine with CDs and
DVDs. When I insert a blank DVD, now the option leave the disk open is
no longer grayed out and I succeeded in adding files to a mulitisession-
DVD, that
Today I burned a DVD (just straight data files on it) and that ejected OK.
The ones that didn't eject were all audio CD's, with mp3 and wma files as input.

It is not related to a specific printer. Actually, evince cannot print on any
of the printers.
I tried the latest evince version 2.29 too but it behaves exactly the same.
For this reason I switched back to the version that can be found in the repo
(2.28)

Okay. I figured out, it has nothing to do with the screensaver
activating, but only with the kind of videos you play. Totem
reproducably hangs at the end of 50% of my AVIs. I'll try to make a
sample video file for others to test it. Probably the header data in
those files is wrong, but that

upgrade from 9.04. However I still don't know if it was but I got the
solution as:
rm $HOME/.gnome2/evince $HOME/.gnome2/accels/evince -Rf
And after that evince can print again nicely.
