I just finished installing Ubuntu 10.04 from scratch using ISO burned to
CD and reinstalled applications and user data from backups. Current

I see this behaviour on a Dell Inspiron 1150 running Lucid.
The battery drains completely to the point of immediate power off.
Gnome power monitor in tray still reports AC online, and Laptop battery is

I've written to the debian maintainer to update this package, hopefully,
it should be fixed in maverick. If I can find the particular patch that
fixes this bug, I'll try to get it into propsed

What do you mean? Have you ensured you had killed previous instances of
the daemon before starting it? How do you know it's hanging

Same bug here in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) with the latest updates
up until 2010-05-21. I think somebody should give some massive priority
to this. I guess there are quite a lot of people doomed to use Exchange.
And it just doesn't work people ...

Indeed. I thought I had seen the contrary. So the problem lies somewhere
else, we'd need to see if it's hanging in some function call, or if it's
simply not grabbing the D-Bus name. It's not impossible that when
logging in without password, the race condition described by bug 573387
happens. Just
I do still have this bug and the version is the same as MichaelB's
(2.30.2-0ubuntu1).

I could not get Brasero to work either. It kept saying unknown fault.
Then it would eject the disk. After many attempts, I replaced the
drive. It was older, but known to be good. No help.
On advice from the forum, I tried Xfburn. Sometimes it says it cant
unmount the media, sometimes it says
