Hi,
I found at least one action that starts the gnome power manager (even
after I've disabled it from the startup session). When I open the
update manager and click either Check or Install Updates, the gnome
power manager is automatically started (even before providing a
password). My guess
@AndreK: Fix Released means it is fixed in the *current development
release*, i.e. in Natty[1]. If you need it fixed in Maverick, you have
to inititiate the SRU process[2].

Thank you for your bug report. That's an odd issue, eog perfectly opens images
on my desktop. What happens if you try it from a terminal
(ApplicationsAccessoriesTerminal) by entering
eog ~/Desktop/nameofyourfile.jpg
PS: The issue with About Ubuntu is a known bug (Bug #690248).

Erik, i can confirm i have the same issue as you.
Regularly i am notified in the top bubble, and in the chat window receive a
duplicate of two messages.
an example is listed below:

Omar-- Followed instructions from your email. Adding new APP and
installing what you suggested... same problems- But now cannot submitted
Bug from within Rhythembox. Even though it says that is an Ubuntu
build, launchpad says it is not. (unrecogm=nised) So instead of
submitting new, I changed
