If I open rhythmbox and start playing a song, only a small strip on the
top of the cover art is shown. The problem goes away on the next song,
or if I click on a different song. I attached a screenshot. Note the
strip on the bottom left, right above 10 songs, 32 minutes etc.

be a very complicated bug to solve. :-D

Well, I wandered past this bug, looking for something else, and I see
it's a dupe of fixed bug 703230. The culprit was this, in
DpkgTerminalLog.txt:

days.]
