Problem also appears to me, when I use Gnome classic; no warnings are in
terminal even if gnome-settings are ran with -v option.
From gsettings:
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power active true
It works, when I log in with Ubuntu Unity.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: metacity
When I use Always on top feature and bottom window gets an event, top
windows are not properly refreshed. There are old textures (eg it seems
like the bottom window was send to top and then back, but textures of
the old window remain).
Hello, this crash also affects me, so I am reopening bug (because
ubuntu-bug has bug in it and I cannot use it as bug reporter).

This bug can be seen in alpha version of each Ubuntu I have ever tested
(=since 6.10). I don't know, whether someone tried to fix it, but if
not, it could be one of the consequences of missing 3D acceleration
Yes, #250506 was reported 1 month ago and this was reported only today.
