Moving back to confirmed as this bug is not fixed. While the bad plugin
changes have improved things, users are still without working DVD
navigation because totem itself has also not been updated for
functionality like going back to the menu, going back to chapters
etcetc. Currently the user has

of DVD navigation and is not robust. This is why the project is in the
bad plugins set and not the good plugins set.
The intent of the original bug was that DVD's would not play at all but

Sebastien I can assure you that gstreamer packages were downloaded and
installed onto my AMD64 test system following your comments. If you
supply the name of the configuration item in question I can look through
the package install log to advise you of the date and time it was
installed.

user selects them in the totem menu and also the list of available

test. I tried the R4 title Reign of Fire and it failed to playback by

With the R4 title The Core resindvd fails to see user input regarding
which language to display at the DVD menu prompt with a list of

Hi Plun. When I originally tagged it regression-potential I thought this
problem to be a regression over Hardy. Our maestro developer clarified
the functionality was not implemented in Hardy, so therefore the tagging
needed to be removed. Like errors in code, testers sometimes make errors
too :)

Thanks Sebastien :) Ok, so when I run it in valgrind the GUI does
appear, albeit slowly as expected. I get the following:

consideration to a quality user experience. The gnome feature list
states that File-roller (Archive Manager) now uses p7zip to extract
archives, so it supports .alz, .zip, .cbr, .cbz archives, .arj, .rar and

I appreciate that the RARLABS software is closed source, but RARLABS
provides the software as a way for users on non windows environments to
extract their format. Ubuntu includes other closed source software in
the repos such as the Nvidia drivers. Another example is Adobe Flash.
The so called

we can test it anytime you deem Intrepid ready to receive a file roller
synch.

1. I consider the priority should be high, I could be argued into
settling for medium with convincing points. In certain use cases this is
a very serious problem. For example, trying to watch interlaced digital
TV broadcasts or captures of such footage

Using Intrepid synched to repos as of today 14/08/08, I have discovered
that Movie Player with the default gstreamer back ends and the good,
bag, ugly, ffmpeg and fluendo mpeg2 demuxer plugins actually fails to
deinterlace interlaced
