I agree, that's not ideal (one account does not support invisibility,
and invisibility is disabled across all of Empathy). But that is not
this bug -- this bug is already fixed.

(Lucid). Not on MSN.
- When I both connect to Gtalk via Empathy and I open my Gmail account
in Firefox, and I set it to Invisible (in the chat zone on the left),
Gmail shows an error message saying Oops , you are not invisible

I can confirm having this problem with google account in Lucid Beta.
This is very annoying. If the 'invisible' is not supported by Empathy it
should not offer such option, instead it sets you to 'Busy' and you
don't even know about it.

Using 'me menu' I set status to 'Invisible' but it displays the 'Busy' icon.
If I then click 'chat accounts', it shows that MSN is set to invisible but

one telepathy-haze 0.3.4 comes in lucid it will be fixed for yahoo too.

confirming this on Lucid (updates as of March 1). Also, after a while
Im being set to available... something's not right here. and I was
planning to switch to empathy come lucid... keep up the great work, I'm
sure this hellish triangle of me bar, empathy and lib-whatever can be
fixed :)

Confirming issue persists for gtalk on fresh install of Karmic. Has to
be a must fix for empathy if it is a default IM client.

why was this marked invalid for telepathy-haze I found this bug report from
telepthy support channel

out of yahoo,gtalk and msn hidden mode only works for msn ( using lucid
empathy 2.29.6)

pidgin supports invisible for yahoo and msn but empathy supports
neither. just gtalk is the problem in both
