Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
I have several account in the ISP provider Telefonica. It is near impossible configure evolution for it. With thunderbird and with kmail there is not problem. The problem is only with evolution. Whenh I tray sending a message the Answer always ys tha AUTH failed. Bat with the same definition, same parameter and all the same it works with thunderbird and kmail. I have discover and stupid solution taht works sometimes: When you configure a new account you only configure the SMTP (not POP. You say that there is not POP server. You send a message, and it go. Yes the message goes correctly. After that, you put the data of POP3 and all works correctly. But is you fill POP3 before sending a message you have an AUTHENTICATION problem always. This problem is not of TELEFONICA because with another e-mail clients works correctly; an with evolution is you fill that there is not POP server it also Works. For mr all this means that the problem is Evolution. I suggest (I do not know) tha the problem is when the evolution records my data.
