I'm having a similar problem in Lucid (beta 1): Some utilities, like wget, curl etc. don't receive the updated proxy settings when clicking apply system-wide Applications like Firefox get the correct proxy settings. Here's the output from the terminal: cb_make_system_default reseting proxy
