Same to me, no window borders in gnome, kde. ubuntu 9.10, nvidia, laptop. After manual starting of metacity --replace -c it crashes. After second launch, window have borders. This is not affected by compiz, with no decorations, borderlessness remains. Starting with gnome (minimal), windows have
