In EOG 3.2.0 (Ubuntu 11.10, Oneiric) the bug cannot be reproduced.
Reason: The sidebar is now totally disabled. The menu Ansicht –
Seitenleiste, Strg-F9 in the german version, which probably reads view
– sidebar, Ctrl-F9 in the english version is greyed out.
