the logo gets as big as the svg defines, it will only scale down, not
up, the shipped logo is 128x128 pix big.
i'll look into letting it move slower, but i fear rotating is to cpu
intensive for older machines ...

VMWare on XP Pro SP2.
My mouse buttons/scroll wheel work fine (thanks to ubuntu forum) but I
have a problem with left-handed buttons. I can change the buttons in a
updated today through synaptic and all is fixed. i now have gnome

I found a workaround, see my comment to the upstream bug:

I still think there is a fix needed, evolution shouldn't crash or
produce invalid files.
