I think the fix is really simple. We could modify the alacarte desktop
file to change this line:
NotShowIn=KDE;
to:
NotShowIn=KDE;Unity;
We may probably need to patch Bamf to support the NotShowIn option.

sorry a little mis-understanding about the bug, I thought it was about
the dash showing main menu(alacarte) in the search(which it does). So
should alacarte come in dash search results ?
Also affecting alacarte(package) as something like what was done with
gnome-control-center to only show in
12 matches
