I am not sure if it is a bug or feature but if I turn off computer with
headphones plugged in, then unplug them and boot again, speakers sound is muted
and volume set to 0%.
If I unplug headphones when running system, switching back to speakers profile
is working

Bug is resolved by updating firmware to version 2.11 available at acer
website.
You will need to use unetbootin to create a freedos usb boot drive and
add the firmware installer to that disk.
This is not a bug in ubuntu.

regarding ffmpeg... It is a copyright infringement to say something like:
ffmpeg version 0.8.6-6:0.8.6-1ubuntu2, Copyright (c) 2000-2013 the Libav
developers
because Libav is not a Copyright holder of ffmpeg, but FFmpeg is.

After running gnome-open http://launchpad.net;, I still got a new tab
page, and pressing Alt+Home takes me to a new tab page.
