/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf.

Thanks, testing that version I found other issues, the bg is transparent
which makes the application quite unusable under Unity... that should be
fixed before accepting in it vivid as well

Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1378627, so is being marked as such.
I downloaded and manually installed the NVIDIA drivers version 340.32
from the NVIDIA website. The brightness is still not working. I'm
running Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 on an HP Elitebook 8650w, NVIDIA Quadro 1000M
and I've tried all workaround suggested above.
