The best way to determine whether this is kernel related is to test a
recent daily trusty live image that has a newer kernel... I think newer
images have the xenial kernel on them, so this would be a good way to
determine where the problem is. A fair bit changed in pulse between

Oops, I just got my LibreOffice crash again with the new Metacity :(

On a Lenovo Thinkpad T420, with an Intel Core i5-2520M CPU and
integrated graphics, when using a Samsung UE40J5200AW 40in TV with a
DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable, the colors are very wrong
on the TV.
This happens on a brand new Ubuntu 16.04 installation
If you choose to only get the IP address from DHCP and you don't specify
and DNS servers to use, then there won't be any DNS servers configured
(besides 127.0.1.1).
What will happen is that a DNS request will be sent to 127.0.1.1
(dnsmasq). dnsmasq doesn't have any upstream servers configured, so

I believe this is by design. NetworkManager starts up a dnsmasq instance
that then uses the DNS servers provided by the DHCP server to resolve
queries. This is so that dnsmasq acts as a DNS caching application.
If you run tcpdump or wireshark to log DNS queries made, you should see
that the DNS
Avahi is not the one actively withdrawing the address, this log message
is a reaction to the address record being removed from the system.. it
withdraws the mDNS "record" for this address.
Most likely theory for this is that DHCP is deciding to drop the address
