Judging by the syslog, it looks like the VM might have a broken clock.
Similar to another bug from a couple of years ago which had the same
result: Only the first frame gets displayed so it's a blank purple

Flickering and a lack of smoothness are two different issues. The lack
of smoothness would just be due to your GPU staying at a lower frequency
more often, so it's not a bug but something you would need to tune
yourself.
As for the flickering, please edit /etc/default/grub and change:
That's OK. If no more comments are added here for two months then the
bug will close automatically.

That fix is being tracked in bug 1932328 so is already on its way to
Ubuntu eventually. Not sure if 21.04 will get the fix.

To be fair, "your system is too slow" really means the architecture of
Mutter (used in gnome-shell) is too slow. Not the hardware.
This problem is being improved in newer versions of Mutter using some
threading, but generally it's not an issue anyone should be concerned
about.

Sam, that is the reason why we're doing this in a normal, non-LTS
release, which gives us time to identify and iron out problems and
regressions like this, while exposing the change to real-world testing.
The firefox deb package will remain supported for the duration of the

To expand on the above, have the Firefox and snapd developers figured
out how to incorporate native messaging in a snap-based browser? You
guys are locking out a significant portion of useful extensions if not
figured out.

This morning I noticed this bug can be reproduced not just by having the

pretty sure the same case if you have it on the right as well.

I can confirm this also happens on elementary OS 6 with nvidia-driver-470. I
tried to add a limit to /etc/systemd/journald.conf, but it didn't help at all.
Finally I managed to limit the log size using this tutorial:
