Ran into this after installing dbus-user-session in order to support
systemd user services that raise notifiers via dbus.
Notifiers didn't arrive via my desktop so I presume it just creates a
whole other session somewhere and talks to that. My service worked (when
it was previously crashing
Installed the 301.132-ubuntu2 release from Zesty on Mom's computer.
That does indeed allow the module to load, but puts you right back at
the GLX error.
Removed the nvidia-304 package and thankfully, nouveau seems to have
improved somewhat and now works for her.

It's the GPUs that are considered legacy, not the drivers (304.132 was
released this year, in September)
The 304 driver is required to support older hardware models that have no

At the default zoom level (100%), certain glyphs are inappropriately
rendered as italic.

Is this linked to some weird font caching bug... like the one that
intermittently replaces particular glyphs displayed in the dash bar as
empty space?
Might not be a LibreOffice bug, might be a bug in Xorg (or whatever it
is that renders fonts).

If you start LibreOffice by opening a document from Nautilus, or from
picking a file in the dash, the first window does not get HUD
integration.

I've attached an SVG file that crashes the entire X server when opened
in eog (but not when opened in Inkscape).
This doesn't happen on my home desktop with a big beefy nvidia card,
just on productivity machines with lesser graphics cards.

files.
My problem was even more extreme ; the entire X server crashed, taking
my session and all my open applications with it. IMHO that makes it more
than a minor bug - anything that can crash your X server can cause you
