Working with Pirouette on IRC, we determined this may be related to https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201957#c94 in which the solution, sadly, was to add amdgpu.mcbp=0 to the kernel boot parameters. Per that bug report, it does appear as though this might be the result of a regression in
