This bug is not a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/924612 as per Sebastian at that bug. Please could this be investigated further as this has been occurring since 12.04 started development. These are the errors that pop up when the setup breaks:

HI thanks for the response. In fact today when it happened a pop-up came up saying it was compiz that crashed. I could not report that crash as I had issue with missing packages. I have installed the pkgs now and hopefully next time I can report it. The indicator applet issue seem to have been
