systems are booting into dual head (with the SVideo out on head 2),
2128x800 total. That width over 2048 is probably what's causing the
problem. I did "lose the mouse" on one, and suspected a "phantom head."

Swapped disk from latitude e7450 with faulty HDMI port as a quick fix
while it gets repaired/replaced under warranty. "Pleasantly" surprised
to find the screen resolution capped abysmally low and neither video out

OK, I've just started seeing this on my Toshiba W50X laptop, with Ubuntu 14.04
on it. It now shows no selectable outputs in the Sound Preferences window. I
also have a desktop with an ASRock Z77 motherboard and Ubuntu 16.04 seeing the
same thing!
What other info should I be gathering? It
fix is on the way. Till now it has not been solved. I am running last
2.1.3-4ubuntu0.1 cups.

At this point it is hard to pin point what the problem is as there is
different behavior depending on the snap where:
- sometimes things show up in the dash, other times not
- sometimes we can pin the launcher and have it launch under snap-confine and

I'm having the same issue. Used to work on Ubuntu 16.04, and then
somehow failed. I have a Ubuntu 12.04 next to me a it connects to the
same PPTP with success.
I have attached a syslog of both machines. Let me know if I can test
