I've actually been able to determine what the issue was. The speech-
dispatcher package is the one causing issues. It is possible to
uninstall it from any Ubuntu installation (or Ubuntu-based distros). But
to make sure that indeed this is what is causing the issue in your case,

I installed the ubuntu 20220329 jammy beta with zfs root selected. After
installation, there are drives on the dock for the zfs bpool and rpool
(and in my case also a "1.6GB Encrypted" device since I also selected
disk encryption at install time). These don't do anything

Take in mind that upgrading the shell you're also using libmutter-10
instead of libmutter-9, so the problem may be anywhere in both (more
likely in mutter).

Tested again - this time with TUI interface (do-release-upgrade) from a
terminal and the upgrade finished with the error - "This upgrade has finished
but there were errors.."
During the upgrade I noticed that the snap store was not contacted.
After reboot I noticed that Firefox was still the
