confirm if the updated version really resolve the issue for you (one
advantage of snaps is that they don't change anything on your system so
if you install/try/uninstall you will basically be to the original

to upgrade to 20.04 any time soon. As for a snap, that might work,
although it feels a bit like a zero-sum game: you can have a working

@Sebastian, thanks for the clarification, the tag seemed a bit
misleading.
In the meantime, I've dug up that the bug has in fact been fixed
upstream, although how/when/if that might trickle down to Ubuntu 18.04
LTS, I have no idea.

The bug is not wontfix, it's just a tag used to determine if the issue
is accepted or not as a release blocker, it was judged not important
enough to be nominated, it's still a valid report though. Reporting
upstream could increases the changes to have it being worked on though

Expected behaviour: document viewpan zooms/unzooms at a reasonable speed
Observed behaviour: document viewpan zooms/unzooms from maximum zoom in
to maximum zoom out in maybe 10-15% of the height of the touchpad, i.e.
it is unusably oversensitive.
