Indeed, in initial description of this bug requested rotation only by 90
degree. Therefore feature is fully implemented. Thanks to Tomaz Vajngerl.
But bug is assigned to him. And therefore it is up to him to decide when to

It works as a workaround in LO. You will need to install the version 1.0

No. From my point of view it a shame to duplicate functionalities
between modules. You can do everything you may want on your images in
Draw (or Gimp if you prefer). No need to modify
