Since Accumulo doesn't bundle Hadoop into the release, the only difference this makes is whether or not it breaks our builds during testing, which could indicate a bug in Hadoop, or an incompatibility with that version of Hadoop. The version of Accumulo built with 3.3.0 should work perfectly fine

Can you check that your accumulo-site.xml only adds $HADOOP_PREFIX/share/hadoop/client/[^.].*.jar for hadoop deps for the setting general.classpaths? Not completely sure, but I think this will use the hadoop shaded jars. Do not want the non-shaded hadoop jars like $HADOOP_PREFIX/share/hadoop

Another possible path to solve this is with a different classpath and dependency for hadoop 3. In Accumulo 2.0 we depend on the hadoop client shaded jar, which has its own shaded and relocated version of Guava internally. Using the Hadoop shaded jar would solve this problem. Not sure what

I'd be +1 to drop Hadoop 1 from 1.7. IIRC, we had loose consensus to drop it for 2.0. I don't know how much of that support was because 2.0 is a very major version change. It's worth keeping in mind that jdk6 support is also dropped as of the 1.7 release, which means for some people making
