Hi,
I want to get opinion on whether we should proceed with HBASE-7114
'Increment does not extend Mutation but probably should' in trunk.
Is anyone using Increment.setWriteToWAL or Increment.getFamilyMap ?
For Increment.setWriteToWAL, are you using the Increment returned ?
Your feedback would be

Is that also possible to control which disk the blocks are assigned?
Say when there are multiple disks on one node, I wish the blocks belong to the
local region distribute evenly across the disks.
At present, it seems to that it is not. Though if you take non local regions'
replica blocks in
The reason was that Increment was serialized differently (compared to all other
mutations).
In trunk that is no longer an issue, since the serialization logic is no longer
part of the object to be serialized.

Prime suspects are: HBASE-7599 (Devaraj), and HBASE-7638 (Sergey).
If anybody has any ideas.
Otherwise I'll start with reverting these changes.

Sergey and I looked at the patch.
There is no potential for NullPointerException similar to what HBASE-7268
addendum fixes.
See deleteCachedLocation():

I ran the tests 4 rounds and they all passed:

Hmm... Also got a successful run now.
Maybe it was a temporary env issue. It is just strange that the same test would
fail twice in a row suddenly, along with other test that have not failed in a
while.
Looking at the runtime of TestMiniClusterLoadParallel on Ubuntu1 it tooK 104s.
