In the past I've been around this merry-go-round on another Controller
implementation, the end result of that painful exercise in semantics was
the following:

proviso that the metadata you are dealing with is not more complex than
the code you're substituting for, but that's just me.

what's the consensus of opinion on this? Is there
justification for not prefixing the path? Are we dealing with a
legitimate use case or simply a fluke of configuration which allows it
to work?
