They used to be a dependency of gradle, but nothing depends on them now.
They're severely outdated.

In the beginning of this year, maven upstream announced [1] they dropped
3.4.0 release and reverted the changes made. We already had 3.4.0
snapshot in Fedora Rawhide, so this means we have to revert maven
package back to version 3.3.9.
