after reading the specification, I thought adaptive equalization would be
necessary. I look forward to sending images. I have
33 unique callsigns were decoded -- each at least twice -- during the
last ~10 minutes between 14070.5 and 14072.5. I thought there might be
a contest going, but its all just keyboard-to-keyboard chatting.

188-141 does not merit adaptive equalization in my opinion. At 125
tones per second, one of 8 tones is turned on. Each tone sends 3 bits
as a result. The data is encoded with a Golay code. This is about
twice as fast as is optimal for most HF channels given this kind of
transmission

System is XP Pro with SP1
This motherboard has an on board Realtek AC97 sound card.
If I plug a Creative Live PCI sound card in, and boot up, the Live card
is found and installed ok
