I tried it out, but had trouble with the audio not driving the waterfall
display sufficiently to function.
When I pull the CD and boot up in Win98se again, Digipan and MixW work fine,
as always.
Everything else on the LiveCD worked fine, but was useless without a
fuctional waterfall display.

You have to fiddle with a couple of numbers at the bottom of the window.

Charles, I had a similar issue but found that the software had
defaulted to the Mic input and I was plugged into the Line
input. Could that be it? From the Menu, click Configure,
then under defaults select Sound Card. There are buttons
on the right side for Mic In or Line In.

I think many people have had time to experiment with ALE 400 in ARQ
mode and the feedback about the throughput has been very good. Most
people have connected via arranged contacts and the use of the K3UK
sked page . Several people have suggested this mode is so effective
that it might be useful

I was going to ask if digital voice was OK on the sked page.
I've jumped on the band wagon with a couple FDMDV QSOs on 20 meters,
both with stations in NY state. I don't have any other DV experience,
and compare FDMDV with other DV modes. I was amazed at how well it
works with only 1.1
Update on new Digital Voice Mode FDMDV
The new Amateur Radio Digital Voice mode FDMDV, which has a bandwidth of just
1.1 kHz, seems from initial tests to produce good results.
FDMDV achieves it's very low bandwidth, just 1.1 kHz, by a combination of a low
sample rate and having no Forward
My own audio sounds quite similar, but i have heard some stations
with excellent audio on this codec. I think we should move the mic
further away and use a pop and hiss filter, or move the mic sideways.
Would be intresting to have original and coded audio to compare.
