All,
Interesting pathsim test: Contestia 16/500 and Olivia 4/500 move along at about
the same wpm rate, but there's quite a bit of difference in performance.

Is there anyone out there who uses both DM780 MixW who could record wave
files using DM780 where the wave files contain Contestia and RTTYM
trasmissions? You'll need to couple the programs using something like VAC.
Ideally one file per mode with a reasonable long text.
I need the waves files
Has there been any further progress on this mode?

Hi Simon.
Why don't you use MultiPSK or PocketDigi to test Contestia and RTTYM against?
You could reuse PocketDigi's source code also.

Hi Simon and all
I made some pathsimulations with RTTYM and Contestia from viewpoint QRP
and contesting.
My results show that both are dead modes. But RTTYM with UOS like Sholto
believe it would be much better.
The data about 1.5dB snr or 3dB in relation with original Olivia is
myth.
Hi Vojtech,
I didn't know that PocketDigi ran on Windows XP etc. - I also clean forgot
about MultiPSK (sorry Patrick).
I saw your Contestia / RTTYM implementation - quite simple really (once
someone's already done the hard work).

dear simon
multipsk is workable in the free version
just send the test text with multipsk and record your sending audio with
wavepad or with another waverecorder (any should work)
now open dm780
play wavefile with a waveplayer (any should work)
setup your windows mixer under record options (input
VERY interesting, Jaak, thank you!
Where do you feel MT63 would fall?
Thanks,

This is where Patrick's RSID idea will help, I'm adding it to DM780 and maybe
the MixW developer(s) could add it?
Patrick - how does the RSID sensitivity / robustness compare to Olivia? Would
there be any point in sending the RSID twice?

Hello Simon,
maybe the MixW developer(s) could add it?
It would be good to include RS ID in Mixw, at least for the Mixw exotic modes
(FSK31 for example).
It could be indicated for the softs not decoding the exotic mode with which
soft it could be decoded. For example, on reception on a (future)

My RS ID measures are the following:
* the first RS ID decoding happens at S/N=-18 dB,
* at S/N=-13 dB the RS ID decoding is almost

I respectfully disagree Jaack.
If you compare Contestia on a word-per-minute basis, you'll find it compares
favorably with Olivia and in some cases will outperform it based on
Simon,
As Patrick mentioned, the RSID is very sensitive. Multipsk was able to
detect the ID down to -25db with the HF path simulator PathSim.
It seems robust and decodes fine with moderate HF channel disturbances --
tends to fail under extreme conditions such as disturbed high / low latitude
Sounds like a NOMIC from West Mountain. Maybe you can check their web site too.
I changed nothing on my radio to use mine with PSK.

Yes, a new version for Alpha testing was released last week. As
usual, a few issues were uncovered and some fixes developed. I would
guess that it is perhaps a month or two away from a beta release.

PSK-31 and RTTY modes, PTT support on serial port RTS line.
Black box is about 1 X 2 . (maybe it was a kit, put together well).
Has a TXA level set. Just bought it
Acording to the FT1000MP manual:
Packet DIN plug is for external TNC, RTTY DIN jack is for RTTY terminal unit.

So maybe this won't work with my Yaesu?

Yes please - this would save me a lot of time, maybe a couple of Contestia
and RTTYM?
Please send to si...@hb9drv.ch, I hope to have Contestia and RTTYM working
next week, currently got a lot to get organised here.
