under which it has been developed and published. To date one other
amateur product has used fldigi source with great success, DM-780, by
Simon Brown.

I suggest you might want to look at the following url for very good info
on serial ports. The code section is specific to Posix systems ; XP
thinks that it complies of course :(. The end of the document has some
very good illustrations of the pinouts for the most common hardware
interfaces

the Linux operating system. That may change in the not too distant future.
