The initial wait when the K4 was first announced (in Dayton?) might have been
that long but that was a few years ago. The reports you are seeing now are
present day reality. Elecraft publishes shipping status on their website for
all of their products. https://elecraft.com/pages/shipping-status
Hi Hoop,
Was the ultimate solution to use the windows version of the utility (I assume
so but thought I’d ask to be sure). I’m a new Mac user here and still need to
configure the KPA1500 utility.

A buddy of mine (KW4YA) was waiting for a tracking # for his amp that was
supposed to ship Monday. He called and found out today that the return shipment
was overlooked. I had an instance a while back when my KPA1500 was returned

Let’s try this again. Sorry about that last post. I have no clue what happened.
I just quoted my original for sale post and reported that the Rig has sold.

There are a few of those around now. Of course they have varying capabilities
relative to SMD. A buddy of mine just recently had a K3 repaired by N3CZ over
in North Carolina. He turned it in a few weeks.

Hi Pete,
Did you confirm that the drive power from the K3 was changing on 15M when you
adjusted it on 80M and vice versa? I’ve never had this problem 160M through 6M.
Sounds like something may be set wrong in the menu or a failure of some sort.

Hi Andy,
No, RX audio just appears greatly attenuated - acting like the antenna is
disconnected. There is still the ambient hiss from the K3 speaker. The symptom
reminds me of a problem I has with my Alpha 86 that ended up being a dirty T/R
relay. He’s close to end of warranty so he probably
A buddy of mine is having a problem with his KPA1500 where the receive path is

I use mine on 30M @ 200W. Efficiency isn’t too as good, but that is a

If there is a relay in the rx signal path, check the contacts. I had that
happen with my Alpha recently. Of all the possibilities that was the easiest
thing to fix. Thankfully that was the problem :-).

I just had this happen with an Alpha that I was bringing out of retirement.
Turned out to be dirty relay contacts in the signal path. I can't imaging what
would be unique in the amp about data mode. I wouldn't think the amp would
even know. Good luck tracking it down. It's probably something

Joe, I think the confusion might come in with the typo -> A 5 KHz *audio*
bandwidth would be equivalent to a 10 Hz RF (IF)
Should be -> A 5 KHz *audio* bandwidth would be equivalent to a 10 KHz RF (IF)

Are you using N1MM? I had the same thing happen for about a 10 minute period
during the contest and clicked a few fields on N1MM related to RIT and it
stopped. I meant to go back after the contest and learn about N1MM control of
the RIT but my poor memory took over and I forgot about it!
Will a K3S key an Alpha 86 direct without an intermediate relay? I'm trying to
set up my system quickly for the ARRL 160 and hoping to get a quick answer.
