I'd appreciate any info on sites/resources to help with receiver noise
mitigation. I'm especially interested in identifying the source of
heterodynes and harmonics that appear on some bands but not others. 15m
seems to be particularly vulnerable. I'm familiar with W9YC's papers on
this topic
Good for you! Finished mine, #5957, in spring of 2007 with the 100w amp,
SSb, NL, and DSP modules. Wouldn't part with it for just about
anything. IMHO, one of the great radios that has emerged from the hobby
since the beginning. Also, join wholeheartedly in offering thanks to

I gave up on all SSB contesting long ago. To my ears and preferences,
it's just a pile of gibberish with maybe one very strong/clear signal
every 10-20Kc. Not worth it. CW is the only way to contest IMHO. While
I've never operated QRP, I suspect that I'm headed in that direction, also.
Usually, WAE has signals band edge to edge. Today, almost nothing. Any
ideas what's happening? I checked the propagation sites and there's
nothing about a major sun event. Puzzled.

Front panel sound now working... Hadn't tried it in a while, so it looks
like some of the other adjustment I made brought it on line. Time to

The K2 is somewhat of a spiritual event. There are many - me included -
who are very attached to their K2's, not because the specs are amazing -
many modern radios perform better - but because we built them, got
familiar with them, used them in memorable situations, and became fondly

Hello, all...
While not in a position to buy a K4x, I have found the various
discussions valuable in maximizing usage of my K3s. Comments about how
the K4 performs better than the K3 [fill in the blank] point to
where/how I can investigate the K3s, learn about the performance
issue(s), and
i sent this again because I couldn't find it. Then, I looked down in the
K4 bin, and there it was. Victimized by my own message filters. HI.
Sorry for the noise.

I have ReSound hearing aids with a BlueTooth receive capability. They
link up with my iPhone automatically. Can I buy a generic BlueTooth
transmitter, plug it into my K3s and have the same type of hassle free
link, or are there compatibility technical issues about which I am
unaware? Thanks
