I might agree with you, EXCEPT I was using the setup with the P3 2KW
sensor between the KAT500 and the antenna for several months or more,
before the P3 crapped out on me. And during that time, I didn't notice

This happened to me until I changed my order to a K4D and said I would take the
HD upgrade board when it came out.

I couldn't figure it out, as I ordered a K4D in February with no deposit,
and received it in just 7 weeks.
It occurred to me he might be talking about putting money down for a K3
board, not a K4
The initial wait when the K4 was first announced (in Dayton?) might have been
that long but that was a few years ago. The reports you are seeing now are
present day reality. Elecraft publishes shipping status on their website for
