I have NetSight running on a Windows 2008 box, and it works without any issues.
I use the web browser to access it, but RDCing in to the server works well also.

Ours is running on VM instance of CentOS 5.x (RHEL). We had it on W2K3 then
W2k8 but moved it. The Linux install is a minimal install. Windows was a
little more overhead on the VM. I don't think it was Netsight but more the OS.
