This will be helpful to know if one is trying to convince a major
organization to step up and host evolution and possibly brethren
too.

I realize the evolution is closely tied to the GUI.
I would like to be able to process small lists of email and store
copies in my Outbox just as if I had sent them, one at a time, via
the GUI.

I added gmail by following the notes in
https://help.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/accounts-add.html.en
It worked for about a day and now ... at the top
Failed to refresh folder "...INBOX"
The reported error was "Failed to authenticate: Timeout was reached"
